Our bios

DJ Dre (aka "We in the Basement") has been mixing since 1989. After watching Krush Groove, he knew he had to be a DJ. He idolized Jam Master Jay and DJ Jazzy Jeff. Growing up in Chicagoland, hip hop, house music, R&B, gospel, funk, jazz, and a mixture of other genres were what Dre listened to on the radio. With his uncle, DJ Reg Q, as a mentor, he learned to mix and the he took off from there. His ability to mix with different genres is his greatest strength, but making people move and feel good on the dance floor is his greatest reward.
